What Remove clicks and pops actually does
Clicks are short and loud, which makes them easy to detect and easy to over-treat: a detector set too eagerly starts removing the attack of every drum and consonant, and the recording goes soft in a way that is hard to notice one pass at a time. This page keeps the untreated source on the same transport as the result, so an over-aggressive setting is audible immediately rather than after the file has been filed away.
